A new look and the snapper he brought home
Cannelle Et Vanille has a new look!
Kaytlyn and I have been working on the new design and functionality for months but busy schedules kept delaying the final launch. There are still some tweaks I have to do, especially to old posts, but I am happy with the result.
The site is now a lot more functional with a new search engine, recipe index, slightly larger images and my favorite tool, the new calendar. If you go to my top bar menu, you will notice a section dedicated to workshops. This is essentially my calendar where I will keep you updated of upcoming workshops, book signings and events. I am excited about this one.
“And the fish?” you might ask.
It’s the result of a happy husband – a husband that gets to go fishing and bring home dinner.
Makes me smile.
Have a great weekend.
I am in love… and I’am going to browse through all the pages of your beautiful new website!
OSO ONDO!! A friend of mine send me your link, it makes me miss the Basque Country! Your food looks amazing!
I love it. So fresh and clean. I, as well, just spent some time revamping my blog. I am still in the process of formatting pictures . It’s a of of work, but well worth it in the end. Proof is in your blog. Beautiful.
Great new look, Aran! And that beautiful snapper! You must be proud of your husband ;)
Have a great lazy Sunday,
Sini

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new layout design!!!!
Loving the new look Aran!!! Sorry I missed you guys in Seattle, I do hope there will be another visit in the future. How did the book signing go? Sounds like you haven’t stopped. So many exciting things on the go.
Sorry you couldn’t make Tracey. There will be other times. I just arrived in Seattle actually. Book signing is this week. Speak soon.
Aran, The new design is beautiful and indeed does seem to be easier to navigate. I don’t know how you’ve fond the time to get it all done! On a side note, your book arrived in the mail this week, and I have been gazing at it for hours. I am so blown away. It is even more beautiful than I could have guessed it would be. Congrats!
Ze polite!! Lora txikiek gustetan jataz. Eta kalendarioana idea ona!
Delicado, fino y precioso!
Gracias
¡¡¡PRECIOSO ARAN, ME ENCANTA EL NUEVO LOOK!!!. Qué bueno tener información sobre tus talleres. ¡Qué rica cena!. Muxuak.
Precioso el nuevo look del blog!!
♥♥♥ what a gorgeous new look! Love how light and clean it is! Just beautiful!
Your site looks lovely and fresh. That snapper doesn’t look half bad either.
I thought your website was inspirational before, but this new style is so gentle and relaxing and makes me want to read more. Almost ethereal, and very beautiful. It is one of my favourites.
hey aran. i have to say i used to enter your site almost everyday..im sorry to say..i liked it better the way it was before..i think the abc letters are bed for the eyes..but maybee its only me..
Sorry you don’t like it… Can’t really go back now. It’s a totally new platform, hosting, …
I agree. I have difficulty reading the blue font.
i really like it! i especially love how you divided the recipes by seasons, ingredients.
I love your blog and your new cookbook! I have recently been diagnosed with a sever allergy to casein, so your dairy free recipes have been wonderful! Do you ever substitute casein free ghee for your butter in your recipes? I would love to know what you think about that!
Yes, I have used ghee before especially in the recipes where butter can be melted, not so much in tart doughs, but I think it could be used in tart doughs too. There is an olive oil tart crust recipe in the book that is really good and ghee could be used there.
I’m slow to accept change, so this new look will have to grow on me, but I’m sure I’ll get to like it. You’ve worked on it for a long time and given it lots of love, so it’ll show I’m sure. :)
Just one little thing, in Firefox at least, on the home page, the text under the pictures of recent posts overlaps the picture of your book and the title of the current post. We can still see everything, but it would be easily fixed, and it’ll look more polished if you do.
Thanks for catching that. We have now fixed that up! Let me know if you still see any problems.
Beautiful – I love EVERYTHING, thank you for sharing!!
I love this image it’s beautiful, let us know if you’re travelling to the uk to do workshops!
What I love is your very unique ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Not only is that the way food should be approached, but life itself. For the most part, our lives are composed of the ordinary moments, and it is up to us to transform them into moments to remember. You inspire me everyday to to try to make even the simplest things special. Thank you so much!
love the new look, Aran! it’s simple yet stylish and definitely looks crisp. love the calendar, larger images and sidebar broken down into seasons and ingredients. And, of course, love that fish.
I recently just graduated photography school, I was looking for inspirational food photographers and I found you. I adore your photography! I’ll be visiting often.
I’m finally holding your gorgeous book in my hands Aran! What a pleasure to flip these pages, read your story and look at all theses beautiful pictures … I can’t get enough of all these colors and how you beautifully style everything … WELL DONE Aran! autumn greetings from Zurich/Switzerland, deborah
