Dreaming of Paris, Croissants and Bonbon
Today I am a guest blogger at Deb’s. She went to Paris for a little trip and all I wanted to do was to sneak in her luggage. I am dreaming of Paris, Spring, the last time I visited the city and the amazing croissants we had every morning for breakfast. Please visit here to read the full story.

Mux a tod@s
c’est super!
I’d take one,please ;)
Congratulations on the guest blogging opportunity!! And oh my, I miss Paris so much – I haven’t been there since the summer of 2003!!
MMMMM…this reminds me of summertime!!! MMMMMMMMM….
What a coincidence….that’s what I am ALWAYS dreaming of!
A warm YUM like this would just be wonderful about now!
That top photo is just so gorgeous – I’m transported!
Your blog is so beautiful. I have to try not to look at it before lunch. It makes me so hungry.
Ay… Quién pudiera pegar un mordisquito a uno de esos croissants, tienen un aspecto realmente delicioso. Mmmmm. Casi se pueden oler desde aquí.
Aiii, aurreko post-eko argazkiek eta gaurko kurasan hauek ez dute Parisen inbidiarik!
urte asko da Parisen izan nintzela,, eta oroimen politak ditut,, baina ez nuen hango kurasanik probatu!! nora begira ibili ote nintzen..
Zein lore dira argazkikoak? ez ditut ezagutzen…
We are always dreaming of Paris, not just of croissants but other breads from Poillan, macaroons, street crepes, cheese…and the list goes on.
Idu- Ingeleraz peonies deitzen dire baina euskeraz ez dakit. Politek ezta?
Thanks everyone!

What type of flowers are those? Carnations? Ranunuculus? They’re so lovely!
stunning!!!!!!
These look amazing!! I have a soft spot for Croissants. I love em so!
Oh those croissants, and the flowers, gorgeous!!
Laura- those are peonies. aren’t they beautiful?
Hi aran,
I like your pictures but the to be honest, those croissants look supermarket-bought. They are bread-y from the inside rather than flaky with layers.
I too miss real croissants, esp almond ones!
Cheers, Malini
Malini- I take that as an insult since I spent two days baking them! They are not store bought. I would NEVER lie like that in my blog. Go to Bonbon Oiseau’s blog and you will see a photo of the croissants before baking and proofing. http://bonbonoiseaudesign.blogspot.com/2009/03/paris-croissants-and-little-romance.html
Dreaming of Paris too! I could not get enough of croissants + raspberry jam. Yum.
paris is literally all about a good croissant and a latte, period.
your photo takes me back….
oh, me too. Just lovely as always.
Homemade croissants! My favorites! I love the shot of the peonies by the window!
Beautiful, Aran, always beautiful.
Oh, Aran !…You just make me dream…and drool too !
oh those croissants look so perfect and yummy. beautiful!!
Wow Malini, that was
1)an insult to a fine pastry chef thinly disguised as a compliment
2)incredibly rude and
3)totally idiotic especially since you can almost never tell the texture of a croissant from the outside
and please don’t contradict me, I’m French and Parisian at that.
Beautiful pictures Aran and I loved reading the story at Bonbon Oiseau.
gorgeous aran! i am off to read your post over at deb’s!
Oh, now we’re all dreaming of Paris!
LOVE your site… it is soooo YUMMY!
Croissant and strawberries, a simply dreamy perfect combination!
I love stepping into your world Aran…it’s beautiful. My kind of dreamworld!!
What beautiful images. I too have great memories of Paris and the incredible croissants we had there. Mm.. now I feel like making croissants!
ana
Congratulations!
very nice pictures !
Oh So Yummy! Some of my favorites!! Love your Blog- it’s my first time visiting. Daisy~
Oh aran so dreamy- the smell in your home must have been amazing! The peonies has inspired me. I love reading your comments- must say i don’t like one in particular- she only has to look at your blog to know how wonderfully talented and a perfectionist you are..
Oh, how I wish I could have one of your croissants right now!
I don’t blame you one bit for wanting to sneak in the luggage. I have to ask, did you make those croissants? All the photos are beautiful!
holly- yes, i made the croissants myself. the recipe is from Tartine.
thank you!
Malini, please, you don,t know Arantzazu. She is a professional and a beautiful and sensitive woman.
Me encantaría probar esos croissants. Tienen que estar exquisitos.
Estamos deseando verte y compartir contigo, con la familia y con Inés esa cena en la que nos deleitarás con un postre.

Croissants and peonies … how perfect is that?
Suddenly, I am hungry for Paris.
Cheers!
Paris in the springtime is most beautiful! Home made croissants are the best.
Nice croissants and even more beautiful peonies! Are they seasonal where you live? It will be three months before they are blooming in my garden. Sigh.
these look so delicious.
I am so there…
–Marc
Dana- yes, they are. Florida has odd seasons since our winter is like Spring everywhere else.
Thank you everyone!
These are beautiful pictures. I love the juxtaposition of the croissants and pivoines! Next time, you are in Paris, do look me up. I have a great baker just downstairs who does heavenly croissant!
holy cow those are beautiful! i’ve wanted to make them for so long!
You made such perfect croissants. It’s so springy and yet it’s still winter over here! :) Btw, I *love* peonies. What a treat. Thanks for sharing those too.
Ces photos sont magnifiques!!! Merci :)
Tes photos sont sublimes!!
What a deliciously gorgeous post! Btw I was sent a meme and now I’m passing it on, hope you don’t mind :)
These croissants look amazing. I steal them from the pastry class. But now I get to learn how to make them soon.
Kaixo :-)! Your croissants look simply amazing as does your blog :-)!
you have hit my guilty pleasure spot. buttery puff pastries…to.die.for. AND my fav peonies…it’s like my birthday!!
Arantza, stop dreaming of Paris and make it happen! It will be a great pleasure to have you over. I know the best bakery around the corner where you can get the best croissants and pain au chocolat ever, perfect to eat with your morning coffee “au zinc” in the next door cafe. Hope to see over here very soon!
